Testimonials are
a very powerful means for us to show others
how God interacts with each of us. God works
with each of us in a unique and different way,
and as He works in our lives, He builds and
crafts us into what He created us to be.
As we allow the Lord to work in our lives and
do the things that He wants to do, we will mature
and grow into a deeper, more intimate relationship
with Jesus Christ our Lord.

Days of Prayer Testimonies
Testimony
From a student at littleton high school:
God is on the move at littleton high school. Bibles are coming out of the closet. People are getting bold in their lives for jesus. a friend of mine hurt his knee skateboarding. I asked him if I could pray for him. He said yes. I prayed "Be Healed in Jesus name". He felt better immediately. I told him that as a christian he could do this too. That jesus had called us all to pray for people and see them healed. A few weeks later, i was feeling really sick and had a bad headache. This same kid came up to me and asked me if he could pray for me. Of course, I agreed. he prayed and I instantly felt better. He was totally stoked. Praise god for his faithfulness and what he is doing at littleton high school.
Testimony
From a senior lawyer in
a major Denver law firm:
As a lawyer, I am, as a matter of habit and
personality, often focused on getting results
and on being in control of situations and circumstances.
Before this past year, I was busy doing good
works for God, but on my own timetable and in
my own comfort zone where I thought I was in
control. I was reading the Bible with a partner,
hosting (with my wife) Bible study groups at
our home, and organizing and leading a Sunday
worship service for my law partners at our retreats—but
always on my schedule and with little room for
God's timing.
In this past year, a number of pastors, intercessors,
and marketplace colleagues have prayed for my
workplace ministry. I am now seeing God open
doors when I least expect it, where the timing
and situation was initiated by someone else,
and where the results are far beyond my control.
Here are some examples:
At a typical business lunch with a highly-driven
and very successful lawyer friend I had not
seen in years, my friend suddenly asked me how
he could change his life, and we began a discussion
of how God can better focus us on our faith
and the things that truly matter.
A member of my law firm came to see me seeking
advice on whether to leave the secular world
of the practice of law for ministry, and offered
me a chance to discuss how he could see law
as a workplace ministry.
A grocery-store manager who is a friend asked
me to join her and our pastor in walking around
her store, praying at each entrance and corner,
and reclaim the store and surrounding land for
the Lord. Near the parking area just outside
the grocery store, we drove a stake inscribed
with Jesus' words for John 4: "I have food
to eat that you know nothing about."
A colleague handling a great deal of stress
professionally and personally during a meeting
began asking me questions about how I integrated
my faith in my job and it led to a discussion
of ways lawyers can bring God more fully into
our lives and work.
A recently-retired lawyer friend, who earlier
had shared his fondness for Eastern religions,
suggested that the non-Biblical Gnostic Gospels
might shed great light on Jesus, leading me
to give him a copy of Eugene Peterson's modern
Bible translation "The Message." A
few days later, my friend called me to say how
amazing Jesus' Sermon on the Mount was; since
then we are meeting regularly to talk about
who Jesus is and why he matters.
A younger colleague mentioned my faith over
a dinner we shared while on a business trip,
leading to a conversation about Scripture. Later
that night, he decided to read the Gideon Bible
in his hotel room; the next morning, he asked
me to pray with him in his hotel room that he
could find whatever spiritual path God had in
mind for him.
A friend called me to explain that she thought
she should leave the practice of law, which
had again become too stressful for her. Although
I was unsure about her faith, I was led to ask
to pray with her over phone. That conversation
has led to several others about where God is
leading her and how faith can remove stress
and provide direction in the workplace.
After having coffee with a lawyer friend who
acknowledged being very unhappy and bitter about
various personal and professional challenges,
I was led to pray for this friend immediately
there in the coffee shop to ask God to step
into these difficult relationships and to bring
about life and heart changes. The very next
day, other people (who had no idea we had met
and prayed the day before) remarked to me that
they noticed a difference in how my friend was
acting and dealing with other people, seeming
far more pleasant than before.
When I learned that a lawyer friend in another
city was struggling professionally, I decided
to pay him a visit. He shared that he was struggling
with depression due to some very difficult family
issues and other problems. Before leaving, I
prayed aloud with my friend that God might bring
healing and comfort. She later told me that
almost right away, God began to lift her spirits.
During an out-of-town business trip, I had dinner
with a consultant who had once said to me: "I
would read the Bible only if I wanted to read
a good work of fiction." This time, he
complained about all the problems created by
organized religion throughout history, leading
me to comment on the difference between a personal
relationship with Jesus and organized religion.
To my surprise, two days later he asked me for
another similar conversation about Jesus sometime
soon.
In my workplace, I am no longer surprised that
these things happen. God has made clear to me
that I am not at all in control of marketplace
ministry—He is. I have no idea when God
will open a new door, who will be involved,
or what will happen. In the marketplace, God
is teaching me the difference between working
for God in my time, and working with God in
His.

Testimony
From an educator in the Denver Metro area school
system (July 2006):
I felt like God wanted me to start a prayer
group, so I asked several staff members. Even
though they were all for it, I knew I needed
to okay it with my principal—who had previously
turned any kind of Christian groups down.
After I prayed for God to open the door for
me to ask her to allow us to pray together,
she agreed—a definite miracle in itself.
We' are now meeting weekly and God is establishing
a strong core group of Believers in the school.
I'm excited for what He's going to do next!

TestImony
Wedding Ring
A lady came into our store wanting to sell
her wedding rings. She was very hard-hearted,
and certain her marriage was over. I bought
the rings, and told her that if she changed
her mind, I would sell them back to her for
the $100 I had given her. We then prayed with
her about her marriage.
Six weeks later, my pastor and I were going
to a Chamber of Commerce meeting. As we were
riding together to the meeting we were discussing
what he should talk about, as it was his turn
to do the presentation. I encouraged him to
speak about Market Place Ministry, as those
in attendance are business leaders in our area.
As we were walking into the meeting my cell
phone rang. It was the lady who had sold her
wedding rings! She wanted to come and get her
wedding rings back because she and her husband
were reconciling! That call brought tears of
joy to my eyes.
I shared that testimony with those in attendance
at the meeting. I never expected to get such
a favorable reaction. They were all very moved.
Talk about God's impeccable timing! Below is
a copy of the e-mail I received from this woman
afterwards.
Roger Goldsmith
Good morning and God bless, I am the woman who
was in your shop to sell wedding rings and a
promise ring and then again to buy them back.
My husband and I have reunited and are on our
way to repairing all that Satan has taken, with
the good Lord's help and your prayers.
Our prayer request is that the Lord bless this
marriage and give us the strength to press on
to the future and leave the past where it needs
to be. Also that we're shielded from everything
the adversary is going to try to use against
us. Our journey together in Christ is going
to require, strength, wisdom, prayer, bible
study, reading the word, living for Christ,
going to church, tithing and all that is passed
down to us from the Lord in the fruit.
Keep us in prayer. Thank you so much, and I
pray blessings upon you, your family, co-workers
and business. There's a reason the Lord took
me to your store with those rings.

Testimony
40 Days of Prayer Testimonies
As shared with Pastor Gary Hines:
Minerva's congregation was involved in the
40 Days of Prayer during July & August of
2006. A visit from a granddaughter was not a
normal occurrence for her. However, one day
the granddaughter dropped by unexpectedly to
visit. She announced that the coming weekend,
she was going to have her daughter dedicated
to the Lord. Minerva had been praying for this
granddaughter for several years to get involved
in church.
Two Pastors, one on the North Side and one
on the East Side of the Metro area shared on
the same Sunday that during their second service
their congregations got "lost in worship"
which was an unusual occurrence for both of
these services. Their report was it was a glorious
experience and people were blessed.
As shared by Pastor Loren Sandford:
The testimony comes in three stages.
An openly gay student, not three months old
in the Lord and on fire for Jesus, went to the
principal for permission to start a Bible club
in the cafeteria on Mondays. Permission granted.
Next, two of our youth leaders, young men two
years out of high school, asked permission to
go into the school and help with the study.
After a time of discussion the principal asked,
"Why do you want to do this?" Their
reply was, "Because we want to lead kids
out of drugs and sex, and Jesus is the only
way we know how to do it." Again, permission
granted.
Stage three just a week ago was the granting
of permission for our youth pastor, Nathan Sandford,
to go into the school for the Bible study. After
just a few weeks this Bible study grew to more
than 30 youth, even before our youth pastor
was granted access. At times, power levels have
been such that youth who knew nothing of the
power of God have experienced physical manifestations.
We'd say they were slain in the Spirit. Having
never experienced anything like this, and being
unacquainted with anything "church",
they say, "I fainted." The key is
that our people went in with humble hearts to
serve, not to cause an upheaval. Doors opened.
Praise reports from the 40 Day Prayer Canopy......
Reported by: Amy May Everette
Parker Evangelical Presbyterian Church (PEPC)
held a water baptism at Cherry Creek towards
the end of the prayer canopy (on Aug 27th) -
after they hosted 24 hrs of the canopy. Last
year they baptized 3 people. This year, they
baptized 28 people!!
Crossroads Community Church (in Parker)... during
the prayer canopy, announced that they're adding
a 3rd Sunday service to handle the newcomers!
Parker Christian Center (my home church)....
has experienced a fairly steady influx of new
people recently.
PEPC started a Wednesday night service/fellowship
time on Sept 20th. They planned for 170 people
to participate in dinner, worship and teachings.
Instead, 360 people showed up!! There was a
mad dash for more food to accommodate everyone.
Praise God!
Dear 40 Day Prayer Update:
Again I want to encourage you with reports
of the Lord moving in response to our corporate
prayer for the city.
In conversations with Pastors and Leaders on
the North Side, there has been a shift that
has resulted in a greater open heaven. Visitors
coming in, people are getting involved in ministries
in their congregations, a renewed passion for
the lost; along with an awareness of God's presence
in the services.
Please, share with me impressions that your
prayer people are getting that are applicable
to the Denver Metro Area. We want to share them
with folk.
FYI, in our time of prayer, the distinct impression
came to me that God is getting ready to "reform"
the church. That is an interesting phrase, particularly
with my background. In the past, it's been "revival"
or "renewal"; but "reformation"
has been obscured from my mind set for whatever
reasons. I was reminded of Jeremiah going to
Potter's House, and as he viewed the process;
the defect was discovered and the Potter "reformed"
the clay. I've viewed that as somewhat of a
negative circumstance. Yet it dawned on me,
that the defect was discoverd as the vessel
was in the Potter's Hands, not something observed
by the Potter then picked up and reshaped. But
while "in the Potter's hands."
The application for Denver, I believe, is that
as we become aware of the "defects"
revealed to us by the Spirit of God, we need
to be reminded it's because "we're in the
Potter's Hands" and not out in rebellion
or anyother kind of thing. He is bringing "reformation"
because our city is in His Hands and near His
Heart.
That means each and everyone of you are there.
In His Hands! That's security for every believer.
Keep on pressing in for our city and thanks
for what you have done and are going to do for
the Kingdom of God.
Blessings, Gary
